Greater operational efficiency allows Standard Bank to dedicate more time to customers

Standard Bank & Trust Co., a $2.2 billion community bank with 37 branches in Illinois and northwest Indiana, faced growing operational strain as customer relationships and account portfolios multiplied. The bank needed an efficient way to associate personal and business accounts, reassign responsibility codes after employee changes (up to 5,000 accounts at a time), and perform an annual dormant-debit-card purge affecting roughly 10,000 cards — tasks that together would have required hundreds of manual hours and thousands of individual changes.

Standard Bank deployed Nintex Foxtrot RPA to add flex fields/household numbers, automate responsibility-code updates and handle the dormant-card process. Foxtrot completed 118,000 account changes in weeks, now performs ongoing maintenance at about eight records per minute, and reduced the annual card purge from ~150 employee-hours to about five hours by closing cards in ~2 seconds each and assessing fees automatically. The automation cut manual effort, reduced errors, and freed staff to focus on customer service and growth.
