A Nintex Case Study
Environment Southland is the regional council responsible for managing over three million hectares in the far south of New Zealand, including Fiordland and Stewart Island. As staff numbers grew and legislative demands changed, the council outgrew its Visio-based approach: procedures were scattered, hard to find and time-consuming to maintain, leaving the organization without a single source of truth for processes.
Environment Southland implemented Nintex Promapp (plus a process approval workflow and trialled the risk add-on), formed a cross-organizational governance group, and mapped both simple and legislative processes. The result was a single, easy-to-navigate process repository that improved manager engagement, sped up onboarding, resolved after-hours issues more effectively, standardized processes, cut training interruptions and enabled continuous improvement across the council.
