A Nintex Case Study
Arizona Electric Power Cooperative (AEPCO), a regional generation and transmission cooperative serving members in Arizona, California and New Mexico, struggled with version control across roughly 50,000 engineering records. The manual change-order process—printing PDFs, marking up drawings by hand, mailing them, and queuing designers—could take months (sometimes more than a year), leaving engineers unsure whether SharePoint drawings were the latest versions.
AEPCO integrated Nintex with SharePoint to automate workflows: engineers submit electronic mark-ups, automated alerts notify administrators and designers, and interim updates are posted immediately. The change cut drawing-update turnaround to about a week, reduced records-indexing time by ~95% (from 563 to ~28 hours/year), sped Accounts Payable indexing from 10 minutes to 30 seconds per record, and enabled the cooperative to maintain workflows in-house while reducing risk and saving time.
