A Nintex Case Study
First Solar, a U.S.-headquartered global manufacturer of high-performance thin-film PV modules, faced fragmented, manual processes—lots of work done in email and Excel (including a 21-tab change management spreadsheet) and costly, department-level document systems. SharePoint’s native workflows couldn’t centrally manage the company’s varied, complex workflows, creating inefficiencies and slowing operational excellence efforts.
To address this, First Solar implemented Nintex K2 Five to centralize automation and build about 30 production applications—ranging from a rules-based change management system to enterprise document control integrated with SharePoint and Tableau. The platform cut development times by 25–50%, reduced reliance on outside developers, saved roughly $50,000 by avoiding a separate EA tool, and sped delivery of higher-quality business solutions across the organization.
