A Nintex Case Study
Bufetat, Norway’s Office for Children, Youth and Family Affairs, needed to protect vulnerable children more efficiently but was hampered by an antiquated, manual paper workflow. More than 5,600 caseworkers were dealing with roughly 7,500 new documents per month, with poor visibility into case status, slow assignment of work and time-consuming status checks that diverted staff from urgent client needs.
To fix this, Bufetat developed a bespoke case management system called BiRK and integrated Nintex K2 Five to automate about 35 key processes: scanned documents are automatically assigned, tasks created and workflows initiated. The solution generated roughly 356,000 workflows in a year, delivered consistent, auditable handling across staff, improved managerial visibility and task reallocation, strengthened financial controls, and was shared as a best-practice model with Norway’s judicial committee.
