University College (UCC), a Copenhagen-based institution serving over 16,000 students across 14 sites, was weighed down by manual, paper-based payroll and expense processes. The cumbersome workflows caused late paychecks for hourly staff, frequent data-entry errors, mounting administrative costs and a growing number of support inquiries, yet the college had limited budget and IT resources to fix the problem.

Working with partner ProActive, UCC implemented Nintex Workflow for SharePoint to automate self-service payroll and expense submissions, manager approvals and automatic posting to the accounting system. The centralized workflows improved data quality, sped up payments and data entry, reduced payroll administrative costs and cut support inquiries by 20%, allowing HR and accounting staff to focus on higher-value work.
