Australian Port Streamlines Complex Projects with Nintex

Fremantle Ports, the strategic manager of one of Australia’s largest general cargo ports, faced lengthy lead times and complex capital projects that relied on manual templates and decentralised processes. With input required from multiple divisions and ever-changing regulatory requirements, tracking approvals, ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate project data was slow, error-prone and risky.

Working with Diversus, Fremantle Ports implemented a Project Development Register on SharePoint 2013 using Nintex Workflow and Nintex Forms, replacing 14 manual forms, automating five complex workflows and integrating with their HP records system. The solution standardised and sped data capture, accelerated approvals, improved transparency, compliance and decision-making, reduced rework and costs, achieved rapid user adoption, and has since been expanded to maintenance and external projects.
