AgriFutures Australia, a government-backed organisation that funds and manages research to support 13 rural industries, faced slow, manual and hard-to-manage research grant processes running on an on‑premise system. The platform was difficult for applicants and staff to use, required heavy IT support, and exposed the organisation to disaster‑recovery risk highlighted by the 2019 bushfires.

AgriFutures moved to Nintex K2 Cloud, implementing automated, API-enabled workflows that integrate with existing systems and allow program managers to run projects end-to-end. As a result, contract turnaround dropped from 3–4 weeks to an average of 4–7 days (with a fastest time of 27 minutes), all grant activity is managed in one online place, data is fully reportable via dashboards, transparency and decision‑making improved, and IT time has been freed for further enhancements.
