Port Stephens upgrades from Visio for time and cost savings

Port Stephens Council, the local government for a growing region in New South Wales, needed a scalable, systematic way to map, manage and continuously improve processes as part of its adoption of the Australian Business Excellence Framework (ABEF). Its existing Visio-based approach could not support the scale or governance required, leaving teams with inconsistent, hard-to-maintain process documentation.

The council deployed Nintex Promapp’s cloud BPM platform—integrated with SharePoint and TRIM—and rolled it out with senior buy-in, training and a phased migration from Visio. The result: more than 1,300 processes mapped, hundreds of active users, annual process reviews with 93% completed each year, improved collaboration and accountability, fewer out-of-date procedures, and annual time savings of AUD $6,500 for creating new processes plus AUD $28,600 for reviewing and modifying them.
