Dhru Purohit and The Clean Program, a 21‑day body cleanse co‑founded with Dr. Alejandro Junger, needed a scalable way to give participants real-time support and turn community into a core part of the product. To keep people engaged through a challenging program and to make peer support a selling point, they built their hosted community on NING (my.cleanprogram.com), starting in 2008.

Using NING’s community platform, Clean Program created focused conversations, member introductions, coach and expert engagement, and integrated blog-driven prompts that encouraged participation. The result: the community became a powerful support network and acquisition channel—growing to over 45,000 members, driving traffic from ~100,000 to nearly 1 million pageviews at launch, and producing measurable member-driven referrals and crisis support—outcomes Purohit attributes directly to NING.
