Autotrader faced stagnant results from an earlier Agile rollout and needed a clearer way to manage work across product engineering, product management, IT (development and operations) and the PMO. To address that challenge they adopted SwiftKanban in March 2020, implemented with support from NimbleWork, Inc., to bring a Kanban-focused approach to prioritization, visualization and portfolio management.

NimbleWork, Inc. configured SwiftKanban (notably using the ESP module, flexible column/workflow settings and explicit policies) to visualize end-to-end workflows, improve prioritization and enable better task delegation. The solution improved overall flow of work, sped task completion, smoothed the transition from traditional to Agile behaviors and strengthened portfolio management and alignment of strategy to execution for Autotrader.
