DNV GL, a global technical assurance and software provider serving the maritime, oil and gas, and energy industries, needed much greater High Performance Computing capacity to run large Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for deepwater and hydrodynamics analysis. Its existing cores in Oslo, Hamburg, and the U.S. were not enough to handle massive workloads such as a 40-million-cell BOP assessment, making it difficult to deliver timely, highly accurate computations.

Nimbix provided its JARVICE HPC Platform and cloud-based HPC services, integrated with ANSYS® Fluent®, to let DNV GL submit and execute jobs more efficiently through a streamlined workflow. With Nimbix, DNV GL improved processing speed and ease of use, raised profitability, expanded its customer base, and gained the confidence to scale into more advanced Joint Industry Projects and future CFD initiatives.
