How Bilthoven Biologicals used the modernizing of their IT infrastructure to transform their labeling process after standardization

Bilthoven Biologicals, a Netherlands-based pharmaceutical company focused on affordable infant vaccines, needed to modernize and standardize a fragmented labeling environment. To support its move to SAP S/4HANA, the company wanted a label management system that could reduce manual data entry, improve compliance, and eliminate the risks and support burden created by multiple disconnected labeling systems. NiceLabel’s LMS Enterprise was selected to help unify label production across about 25 printers.

NiceLabel implemented a centralized label management solution with document management and integration to SAP S/4HANA and the company’s MES. This gave Bilthoven Biologicals one controlled labeling platform, one label designer, and better master-data-driven label printing, which reduced errors, simplified IT support, and cut unplanned downtime. The standardization also reduced the number of label templates and suppliers, enabled centralized purchasing, and allowed the company to move to a just-in-time inventory approach, freeing up cash and improving efficiency.
