Streamlined Evidence Sharing Returns Faster Pre-Charge and Remand Decisions

Leicestershire Police, the force of more than 1,800 officers serving Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, faced slow, manual processes for sharing digital evidence with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) — copying DVDs, USBs and paperwork that delayed pre-charge and remand decisions. To solve this, they selected NICE Public Safety & Justice’s NICE Investigate to meet new national requirements for electronic evidence sharing.

NICE Public Safety & Justice implemented a pilot of NICE Investigate with 200 officers and 20 criminal justice support staff, integrating feeds from NicheRMS, STORM and body‑worn video so investigators could build digital case files in one system. The result: all digital evidence is now shared electronically with the CPS, pre-charge and remand decisions are reached faster, cross‑force collaboration is streamlined, and officers report clear efficiency and time‑saving gains — prompting a full forcewide rollout.
