A NICE Public Safety & Justice Case Study
South Wales Police faced a rapidly growing, fragmented digital-evidence landscape—siloed systems, an abundance of video and digital material, and an exponential rise in files that made investigations inefficient. To address this, South Wales Police partnered with NICE Public Safety & Justice and deployed NICE Investigate, a Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS) to centralise access to body‑worn video, RMS, voice recordings and other digital evidence.
NICE Public Safety & Justice implemented NICE Investigate as the core system for South Wales Police (and neighbouring Gwent Police), integrating BWV, ControlWorks, Niche RMS, RedBox and other systems, migrating more than 1.2 million files (≈500 TB) and handling ~30,000 new videos monthly. The platform now supports ~3,900 users, enables citizens and businesses to share evidence easily, streamlined evidence sharing with the CPS, and delivered a conservative cost saving of about £250,000.
