Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Selects NICE Investigate to Digitally Transform Law Enforcement Operations and Improve Efficiency

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office, one of the largest law enforcement agencies in South Carolina, faced slow, manual evidence workflows that required investigators to search multiple systems or physically retrieve materials—creating case delays and the risk of missed evidence. To modernize its processes, the department selected NICE Public Safety & Justice’s NICE Investigate (part of the cloud-based Evidencentral platform) to digitally transform how investigators collect, analyze and share evidence across eight investigative units and about 200 deputies.

NICE Public Safety & Justice implemented NICE Investigate to search connected systems (RMS, CAD, interview recordings, body‑worn and in‑car video), automatically populate electronic case folders, and provide a public portal for secure citizen uploads. The solution frees investigators from manual work, surfaces evidence that might otherwise be missed, and streamlines intelligence and discovery sharing with partner agencies and the solicitor’s office—improving investigative efficiency and speeding case resolution.
