Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, supported by NHS Employers, wanted a better way to help health visitors and new parents find trusted, NHS-approved information. A 2012 service review showed that many parents were using Google to search for answers, but found the results confusing and inconsistent, creating a need for reliable guidance they could access anytime.

NHS Employers helped showcase the development of the ProParent Health Visitor App, which was commissioned with specialist app developer Echo Health Solutions. The app gives parents and health visitors evidence-based information on child health, local services, FAQs, and events, and has helped reduce health visitor clinic appointments by giving families quick access to information at home and beyond visits.
