A NHS Employers Case Study
Medway Community Healthcare, an NHS social enterprise, wanted to deepen staff involvement and give employees a stronger voice in how the organisation was run. To support this challenge, the organisation worked with NHS Employers and introduced an engagement strategy built around staff shareholders, forums, local service-led action plans, and a redesigned staff survey.
NHS Employers helped Medway Community Healthcare implement a new survey based on the Employee Value Proposition model, focused on the employment deal and psychological contract, with results reported by team and mapped to the NHS staff survey for benchmarking. The approach produced detailed feedback for every team, led to local action plans across the organisation, and is being followed up with a shorter survey to track progress, helping managers and staff address issues directly and reinforcing staff confidence that their views are heard.
