Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, a major NHS employer, sought to enhance its recruitment process by ensuring new hires aligned with its core organizational values, known as 'The Leeds Way'. To address this challenge, they partnered with the vendor NHS Employers to develop and implement a bespoke values-based psychometric tool integrated with their existing selection methods.
NHS Employers worked with the trust's internal occupational psychologist and an external partner to create a custom tool that analyses candidates' existing personality and values test results. This solution provides recruiters with a detailed report on value alignment to inform interview questioning, rather than for screening. The vendor helped ensure the tool was cost-effective and that staff were trained on its use. Informal feedback on the new process from both recruiters and candidates has been very positive, and the trust has seen an increased uptake of its values-based assessment approach for senior roles.
