NHS Employers supported Cray Hill Pharmacy, a fast-paced community pharmacy serving a busy area with nearby surgeries and secondary care facilities. The pharmacy’s challenge was to reach more carers and patients who were hard to access because of mobility issues or other health needs, while also increasing uptake of its flu vaccination service.

NHS Employers helped Cray Hill Pharmacy expand its flu vaccination campaign by taking the message out into the community, creating targeted leaflets for carers, and sharing them through schools, community centres, nursing homes, and home-care delivery drivers. The campaign was highly successful, helping the pharmacy deliver 600 flu vaccinations in 2015/16 compared with just 60 in 2014/15, and strengthening its reputation for community care and seasonal health support.
