Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust partnered with NHS Employers to tackle very low seasonal flu vaccination uptake among its 3,000 staff across more than 200 sites. In 2014/15, only 26.5% of staff were vaccinated, and the trust needed a way to make the campaign more visible and the jab easier to access.

NHS Employers helped the trust build a broader, cross-department flu team and implement a highly accessible and communications-led flu campaign, including 98 drop-in clinics, peer vaccinators, intranet promotion, daily email updates, and manager engagement. The approach delivered a 19.5% increase in uptake, lifting vaccination coverage to 46% in 2015/16 and earning the trust NHS Employers’ “Most Improved” award.
