FIA (Fundraising Institute of Australia), the national peak body for professional fundraising in Australia, engaged NGO Recruitment for an exclusive executive search to find a new CEO after Rob Edwards’ successful six-year tenure. The challenge was to identify a leader who could work with the Board to deliver FIA’s new strategic plan, reposition the organisation to represent both fundraising professionals and charities, and elevate the profile and professional identity of fundraising.

NGO Recruitment launched a targeted executive search and advertising campaign, including talent mapping across the NFP and industry body sectors, to find a candidate with strong senior leadership, strategic communications, brand, marketing and digital expertise. The 2-month campaign generated 143 applications and a shortlist of four interview-ready candidates, leading to the successful appointment of Katherine Raskob, who has been well received by the industry.
