Alkami Technology is a Plano-based provider of the ORB digital banking platform, helping banks and credit unions deliver modern online and mobile banking to over a million users. As demand shifted from on-premises to hosted SaaS, Alkami needed a nimble, virtual architecture that met strict regulatory and security requirements—specifically modern TLS support and server-side control of cipher order—while also scaling beyond the limits of their previous load-balancing appliances.

Alkami deployed NGINX Plus for TLS termination and as the main load balancer across tiers, replacing hardware-bound solutions. The change delivered an A+ Qualys SSL rating, scalable performance for 1M+ users with room for rapid growth, real-time operational visibility through the NGINX Plus dashboard, and simpler, scriptable deployments that support automation.
