Ferrellgas, an energy provider serving about one million homes and businesses in the United States, needed a faster and more flexible way to communicate with customers about propane refills. Its existing two-printer process for producing 300,000 reminder postcards each week was time-consuming, hard to change, and required postage to be prepaid in advance.
NextPage implemented a print-on-demand automated postcard system with a template library and deeper variable data fields so Ferrellgas could include customer-specific delivery details. The new process cut turnaround time from five days to 48 hours, eliminated the need for pre-paid postage calculations, reduced staff time by about 100 hours per year, and increased response rates from 15% to 30%.
