Lockheed Martin Aeronautics partnered with NextLabs to solve a high-stakes access-control challenge in its global supply chain. As Lockheed worked with international customers and suppliers, it needed to let external users perform SAP tasks while restricting them to only the data they needed, in order to comply with U.S. disclosure policies and protect sensitive, national-security-related information.

NextLabs implemented NextLabs Entitlement Manager for SAP to deliver fine-grained, attribute-based access control, using user attributes such as citizenship, location, and geography to enforce policies at runtime. The solution first proved successful in a pilot for Canada’s C-130J program and then supported a broader F-35 production effort, helping Lockheed enable partner access without relying on liaisons and reducing the need for costly custom ABAP development that had previously exceeded $1M.
