Case Study: Magna achieves greater IT transparency and standardization with Nexthink

A Nexthink Case Study

Preview of the Magna Case Study

An X-ray view of end-user performance

Magna, a major automotive supplier based in Austria, faced the challenge of standardizing IT services across its 400 disparate sites as part of a large-scale cloud transformation. Their goal was to identify standardization potentials and improve security, but they lacked visibility into the services used by their 50,000 end-user clients. To overcome this, they partnered with vendor Nexthink to implement its cloud-based monitoring and analytics service.

Nexthink provided a solution by deploying its Collector on all endpoints, which fed data into its Finder analytics platform via the AWS cloud. This delivered a 360-degree view of IT usage, allowing Magna to quickly identify services that could be standardized and uncover non-compliant security practices. The results were significant, revealing that only 50% of software licenses and antivirus installations were actually in use. By providing this transparency, Nexthink ensured the success of the consolidation project and gave the IT team confidence that future rollouts, like a new antivirus software, were effectively deployed on every computer.
