A NextGen Healthcare Case Study
Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, a community clinic in Kansas City serving ~20,000 patients annually, needed to fix fragmented care and lost revenue caused by operating multiple electronic health records. With medical, dental and behavioral services split across systems, staff couldn’t easily see a single patient record or extract discrete data for reporting, which hindered integrated care and automation.
In 2021 the center returned to NextGen’s unified solutions—EHR, PM, EDR and patient tools—creating one source of truth, configurable templates, and real‑time workflows for medical, dental and behavioral teams and community health workers. The change improved data capture and automated reminders, enabled seamless behavioral-health referrals and social‑needs coordination, and helped Sam Rodgers move from Bronze to Silver Health Center Quality Leader status within the first year.
