Case Study: Texas HealthCare achieves streamlined workflows and $3M in Meaningful Use incentives with NextGen Healthcare

A NextGen Healthcare Case Study

Preview of the Texas HealthCare Case Study

Productive partnership creates OB/GYN success

Texas Health Care, a physician-owned multispecialty practice in Fort Worth with 75 locations and 150 providers (33 OB/GYNs), needed a single-database EHR to streamline clinical and administrative workflows, meet Meaningful Use requirements, support growth, and add OB/GYN-specific content. With many sites already on NextGen Practice Management, THC moved all physicians to NextGen Ambulatory EHR by the end of 2011.

In partnership with NextGen Healthcare, THC implemented NextGen Ambulatory EHR, Practice Management, and OB/GYN-specific content through a phased, collaborative rollout. The result was faster, more consistent documentation and workflows, simplified auditing and coding, remote record access, patient callbacks reduced to about 20 minutes instead of days, fewer repetitive labs, and more than $3 million in Meaningful Use incentive payments with all eligible doctors achieving MU status in 2012.
