Dermatology Associates of San Antonio (DermSA) is a multi‑site dermatology practice in San Antonio with over a dozen providers preparing for significant organic growth. The practice struggled with a DOS‑based, paper‑heavy system that limited multi‑location access to patient data and the efficiencies needed to scale.

DermSA implemented a phased rollout of NextGen Practice Management (2008) and NextGen Ambulatory EHR (2010), supported by extensive, adapted training and additional tools (patient portal, NextPen). The change drove provider buy‑in and operational efficiencies, helped earn $279,000 in Meaningful Use revenue (including $37,196 for e‑prescribing), and positioned the practice to continue expanding and adopting more integrated features.
