Peak Vista Community Health Centers is a nonprofit federally qualified health center serving more than 94,000 patients across 27 outpatient centers in Colorado. Faced with a costly, manual claims process—requiring nine full-time staff to review charges and a huge workload for vaccine admin codes—Peak Vista needed to streamline billing to protect resources for patient care and reduce errors and delays.

Peak Vista implemented the NextGen Charge Review Rules Engine alongside its existing EHR and PM, going live in four months. The rules engine automated about 75% of charge reviews (reducing daily manual tasks from ~3,000 to ~100), cut the review team from nine FTEs to four, sped reimbursement with cleaner claims, improved accounts-receivable clarity and patient cost estimates, and freed staff to support AR and a grant-funded senior dental program.
