Optimized Workflows Drive Better Results

Community Practice Services (CPS), part of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, supports independent ambulatory practices across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana with EHR, practice management and revenue cycle expertise. Although CPS had strong in-house billing results, it sought to further improve collections, reduce receivables and free staff time to focus on regulatory and clinical support for a diverse provider network.

CPS expanded its partnership with NextGen to include NextGen RCM Services and the integrated NextGen suite (EHR, Practice Management, KBM, Patient Portal and other tools), automating best-practice revenue-cycle tasks and denial management. The result: a 16% reduction in days sales outstanding, average A/R days fell from 26 to 21, A/R over 120 days dropped from 18% to 5%, improved cash flow and patient-focused workflows, and more capacity to support Meaningful Use, ICD‑10 and other reform-driven initiatives.
