Sebasticook Family Doctors is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center in Maine with five locations and 17 providers that needed a single EHR capable of handling medical, dental, and behavioral health while reliably interfacing with labs, pharmacies and the state HIE. They had struggled with limited functionality from a third‑party configuration and difficulty exchanging patient data across their network.

Working directly with NextGen, Sebasticook implemented NextGen Ambulatory EHR, Practice Management, EDI services and dashboards to consolidate one patient record, enable HIE connectivity and support 340B pharmacy workflows. The result: doubled patient encounters over two years, roughly $250,000 in MU incentives and savings, reduced billing staff hours (avoiding one FTE), improved cash flow and chronic care management (NCQA recognition for diabetes), plus new grant opportunities and readiness to expand.
