Northwest NeuroSpecialists Enables Growth with an Easy-to-use Software Solution

Northwest NeuroSpecialists, a Tucson-based neuroscience practice with three neurosurgeons, three neurologists and two surgical PAs, needed an integrated, easy-to-use EHR and practice management solution to support growth, e-prescribing, Meaningful Use (MU), PQRS, ICD-10 readiness, streamlined billing, cleaner claims, and reliable upgrades and support.

By implementing the NextGen suite (Ambulatory EHR, Practice Management, Health Quality Measures, Real Time Edits, Patient Portal and Transaction Server), the practice met MU Stage 1 (all six physicians earned incentives), increased billable resources from five to nine without adding billing staff, improved first-pass clean claims to 93–97% (surgical claims up from 80% to 92%), raised co-pay collection from 80% to 92% in one month, shortened clinician onboarding to about five days, and achieved smoother upgrades and ICD-10 preparedness.
