Nevada Health Centers Enhance Care While Improving Financial Outlook

Nevada Health Centers (NVHC) is a not‑for‑profit Federally Qualified Health Center operating 26 medical, dental and outreach sites across Nevada. NVHC struggled with outdated practice management software that mishandled payments and billing (charges and payments in different accounts), missed claims and statements, and caused customer service issues and administrative burdens like removing dependents from family accounts.

NVHC replaced its legacy system with NextGen Practice Management, Ambulatory EHR and Document Management—an integrated solution with WorkLog task management and claim scrubbing—which streamlined billing and workflows. The change improved patient care, documentation and reporting, reduced costs and increased revenue and funding opportunities (including a recent $1.4M grant), and delivered better customer service.
