FPA Women’s Health Meets Patients Where They Are

FPA Women’s Health is one of California’s largest independent women’s healthcare providers, operating 25 clinics with more than 40 providers and serving over 150,000 patients annually—about 60% of whom are aged 18–35. To meet these digitally native patients’ expectations for immediate access, the organization sought to expand telehealth and online scheduling but initially faced workflow and patient-safety issues from a non-integrated scheduling vendor that caused duplicate charts and operational friction.

FPA implemented NextGen Virtual Visits™ (launched Dec 2019) and NextGen® Patient Self Scheduling (June 2020) with full integration into their EHR and PM, resolving duplications and streamlining workflows. The move enabled thousands of virtual visits monthly (visits tripled early in the pandemic), 5,000+ online appointments scheduled per month, an 84 Net Promoter Score for virtual care, expanded virtual behavioral health services, and fuller provider schedules while allowing patients to choose providers across clinics regardless of location.
