A NextGen Healthcare Case Study
Arthritis Associates of South Florida, a Delray Beach rheumatology practice with four board-certified physicians and a 30‑member staff, needed a faster, more accurate way to capture patient demographics and clinical history without disrupting visits and to meet Meaningful Use (MU) requirements. Manual data entry and unclear handwritten information were slowing workflow and reducing time for face‑to‑face care.
The practice implemented NextPen alongside NextGen Ambulatory EHR and Practice Management so patients complete familiar paper‑style forms that are captured as structured data and uploaded to the EHR. The change reduced manual entry, improved documentation accuracy and physician–patient communication, saved about 3–5 minutes per visit, and helped the practice achieve MU attestation.
