A NextGen Healthcare Case Study
Delaware Valley Community Health (DVCH) is a network of eight Federally Qualified Health Centers in southeastern Pennsylvania that has provided affordable primary and specialty care to uninsured and underinsured patients for more than 50 years. During the COVID-19 pandemic DVCH faced the dual challenges of rapidly vaccinating high‑risk, technology‑limited populations and maintaining continuity of care and staff employment while clinics were partially closed.
DVCH deployed an integrated NextGen technology stack—including Population Health, Virtual Visits, Charge Review Rules Engine and Mirth Connect—to identify and prioritize nearly 60,000 people for vaccination, administer more than 10,000 vaccine doses, and deliver about 42,000 telehealth visits in 2020. Chart‑level and geospatial data improved outreach and care coordination, automated coding and billing at the point of care, reduced hospital admissions, and helped keep over 300 staff and providers employed during the crisis.
