Blackstone Valley Community Health Care (BVCHC) is a three-site federally qualified health center in Rhode Island providing primary care, dental and behavioral health across 60,000+ patient visits and processing more than 40,000 claims a year. After expanding with a dental center their reimbursements lagged and cash reserves were nearly exhausted, creating an urgent need for a reliable clearinghouse that integrated with their NextGen EHR and practice management systems.

BVCHC implemented the ViaTrack clearinghouse (integrated with NextGen Ambulatory EHR/PM/EDI), using e-claims/e-remittance, 997/277 status, Automator and the C.A.C.H.E. module plus proactive support. The change cut A/R days by 67% (from 75+ to 25), increased first-pass clean claims and faster rebilling, produced $200,000+ in Meaningful Use incentives in year two, improved cash flow enough to add clinical staff, and reduced billing workload to under one FTE per CHC member.
