Serbian Government deploys Nextcloud for compliant, on-premises collaboration

The Republic of Serbia’s National Assembly required a secure, on-premises collaboration and file-sharing solution to comply with GDPR, support its national digitalization project, and replace its outdated and difficult-to-use VPN and SMB system. The institution partnered with vendor Nextcloud to implement Nextcloud Enterprise, seeking an open-source platform that would keep all data within Serbia and support mobile devices.

NETcom System d.o.o. implemented the Nextcloud solution on the National Assembly's own hardware, ensuring data sovereignty and seamless integration with existing infrastructure. The results included secure file sharing that reduced security risks, a unified platform that improved collaboration with external associates, and high user satisfaction due to the system's ease of use. The National Assembly successfully achieved its goals of enhanced security and compliance while promoting digitalization.
