Building a platform for efficient collaboration that is ready for the future

DEGES, a semi-public German project management organization for transport infrastructure, faced a growing challenge: a flood of documents from hundreds of internal and external collaborators working on complex projects. Employees demanded an easy-to-use, efficient platform for document exchange that could integrate into their existing infrastructure and workflows. They turned to Nextcloud to provide a unified, self-managed collaboration solution.

Nextcloud implemented its Enterprise File Sync and Share solution, which was seamlessly integrated into DEGES's existing systems, including NTFS storage and their user directory. The solution provided a central platform for document collaboration with both internal staff and external partners, immediately overcoming previous issues with information silos. The project was a success, with about 2,000 users quickly gaining access. Furthermore, DEGES sponsored the development of new features for Nextcloud's Deck app, which enhanced project management capabilities and demonstrated the platform's extensibility.
