The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) needed a better way to protect high-value data, reduce backup windows, and manage a messy legacy storage environment serving 1,500 users with varied storage needs. CPUC turned to Nexsan and its Assureon secure archive storage solution to help offload primary storage, simplify data retention, and improve protection for unstructured data.

With Nexsan Assureon in place, CPUC cut each daily backup by 5–6TB and finished backups about eight hours faster, while also freeing up servers for better application performance.
