Case Study: UK Ministry of Defence achieves secure information sharing with Nexor

A Nexor Case Study

Preview of the UK Ministry of Defence Case Study

UK Ministry of Defence - Customer Case Study

The UK Ministry of Defence, through the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), needed a better way to share information securely across modern environments such as BYOD devices, cloud services, and coalition partner systems. Its existing system-by-system security and boundary controls were too coarse for today’s needs, making it difficult to manage access at the information-object level. Nexor joined the Sirius consortium to help address this challenge.

Nexor contributed to a collaborative research project that produced a scoping study on an Information Based Security paradigm and recommended future steps toward implementation. The result was a more flexible approach to secure information sharing that better matches modern operational needs and can improve efficiency without compromising security. Nexor also provided an independent technical review of the final report, helping ensure consensus and theoretical soundness.
