China Broadband Communications Co. (CBCcom) is a leading Chinese ICT and cloud services provider serving enterprise customers like Accenture, Cisco and China Mobile International. Facing rapidly growing online demand, CBCcom needed a storage solution that could dynamically scale to support many virtual machines and vast amounts of file data while delivering strong performance and multi-tenant management capabilities.
CBCcom deployed a NexentaStor High Availability SDS solution on Dell hardware—starting with a 200TB usable phase using Nexenta’s hybrid storage pools, SSD read/write caches, and active-active controllers—to provide unified block and file services, ACL-based tenant management and non‑stop availability. The rollout improved scalability and performance, simplified management and capacity planning, reduced vendor lock-in and overall TCO, and enabled new cloud services (including a NAS-backed video trading platform for Topvstore.com).
