Nexenta Provides Fast and Effective Disaster Recovery (DR) for Critical Applications

Armada Music, a Amsterdam-based electronic dance music label and events promoter, faced an urgent storage challenge: its ad hoc setup of HP ProLiant servers with direct-attached storage could not keep up with roughly 25 TB of annual data growth or provide reliable disaster recovery for critical music and HD video assets. The company needed a stable, high-performance solution to replace aging hardware and protect valuable content.

With partner 2SOURCE4, Armada deployed a NexentaStor High Availability cluster—two appliances and 336 TB on JBODs at headquarters and a 264 TB Nexenta appliance at a second data center, connected over a 10 Gb backbone. The rollout delivered faster performance, simpler capacity expansion, automated multi–data-center failover, easy GUI-driven recovery, and cost-effective, vendor-neutral scalability backed by ZFS features like snapshots and versioning.
