Intermountain Electronics - Customer Case Study

Intermountain Electronics (IE), a fast-growing designer and manufacturer of electrical distribution and control equipment, needed a more scalable, available, and secure storage strategy to support massive engineering and manufacturing data. Legacy siloed solutions left them vulnerable to downtime, data corruption, and inadequate disaster recovery, so IE sought a flexible, cost-effective platform that could support concurrent access, rapid recovery, and growing capacity.

IE standardized on NexentaStor 3.0.5 to manage primary and backup storage, deploying remote secondary backups and ZFS-based features like inline deduplication, unlimited snapshots, thin provisioning, and hybrid pools. The unified solution improved data integrity and recoverability, enabled faster disaster recovery, and cut operational and capacity costs substantially (estimated 60–70% savings) while reducing hardware, power use, and administrative overhead.
