A New/Mode Case Study
Beyond The Bomb engaged New/Mode to help mobilize citizens after rising tensions with Iran and the assassination of General Soleimani highlighted the risk of unchecked presidential authority to use nuclear weapons. The challenge was to quickly educate and activate people who had been unaware that the president could launch first-use nuclear strikes, and to generate pressure on Congress to limit that authority.
Using New/Mode’s one‑click email and Letters to the Editor tools, Beyond The Bomb ran the #NoWarWithIran campaign to drive targeted outreach and media amplification. The campaign produced 1,873 landing‑page visitors, 1,070 messages sent to state representatives (over a thousand constituent emails), and helped amplify bills in the House and Senate to restrict first use (with 62 representatives and 13 senators supporting initial measures) while contributing to congressional pressure such as the House’s 224–194 War Powers Resolution vote — all enabled by New/Mode’s rapid, measurable advocacy tools.
