Asharq News Partners With Newsbridge To Utilise AI Archiving Technology

Asharq News, a 24/7 Arabic news service serving the MENA region and beyond, needed a better way to manage its large volume of Arabic and English media assets. The team was struggling with manual tagging and slow content retrieval, and was looking for a video indexing tool that could integrate with its existing media asset management workflow. They chose Newbridge’s Moments Lab Cloud Media Hub with multimodal AI indexing to speed up search and archiving.

Newbridge implemented automated OCR, speech-to-text and translation, facial recognition, and key scene/object detection to index thousands of hours of video each month. The solution enabled timecode-accurate search, custom thesaurus management in Arabic and English, and faster clipping and publishing workflows. The impact was substantial: more than 32,000 hours of video were indexed, 1,600 hours were processed monthly, and close to 100,000 custom thesaurus entries were created, helping Asharq News improve archive access and content production efficiency.
