UK Math and Science Magnet School Taps New Boundary Technologies for Software Deployment, PC Security and PC Power Management

Nova Hreod is a specialist science, maths and computing college in Swindon serving about 1,200 students aged 11–16. After moving to a new building and expanding its IT estate, the school found its existing software-deployment tool couldn’t scale or group PCs effectively, and it needed stronger network security and centralized power management to protect sensitive student data and cut energy costs.

Working with NetWorld UK, Nova Hreod deployed New Boundary Technologies’ Prism Deploy for automated software deployment, Policy Commander for policy-based PC security, and PwrSmart for centralized power management. The result: a small IT team can deploy and update software remotely and at scale, enforce Active Directory permissions to secure shared drives, and centrally control power settings—saving about £3,000 per month on 595 PCs, improving administration efficiency, tightening security and preparing the school for future IT growth.
