A New Boundary Case Study
The London Borough of Merton (Merton Council) is the local authority for a southwest London borough serving over 190,000 residents and managing about 2,500 workstations across 15 WAN sites. Faced with time-consuming, manual software installs and updates—either sending technicians onsite or using remote control—the IT team was spending thousands of staff-hours each year to keep desktops current and consistent.
After a formal tender the Council chose New Boundary Technologies’ Prism Deploy (distributed by NetWorld UK) to automate software distribution. Using Prism’s Configuration Groups and automated deployment packages, Merton moved to a “set-and-forget” model that drastically cut deployment time, improved installation uniformity, and freed IT staff to focus on higher‑value service tasks.
