St. Paul Regional Water Services - Customer Case Study

St. Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS), the primary water provider for St. Paul and surrounding communities serving 450,000 people across 96,000 accounts, was managing 155 Windows XP desktops across two locations with manual processes. Manual installs, custom deployments and routine maintenance were consuming significant IT staff time and creating frequent helpdesk issues, overwhelming the small desktop team.

SPRWS deployed New Boundary’s Prism Suite to automate desktop management, quickly resolving a DNS communication failure (saving more than 20 staff hours), automatically removing the Google Toolbar that blocked critical CMMS popups, and scheduling Wake-on-LAN + Patch Manager deployments to install Windows XP SP3 to all 155 machines (remediating 41 vulnerabilities with no user impact). Prism Suite also automates provisioning of new PCs, dramatically reducing manual installation time and ongoing helpdesk workload.
